When not working, I love to travel, shop, and decorate my home and classroom. My favorite foods are Mexican, sushi, and hamburgers. Not all at the same time but those foods make me happy! I love to try new restaurants and food trucks are fun! When my TRIBE of friends can make our schedules merge I have a group of friends that I try to find time for as often as possible. These ladies are my support system and dearest friends. Family, of course, is something I treasure and time with my boys as they get older is something I cherish.
I have been an early childhood educator in the public school system for 25+ years. I love working with families, and coaching allows me to do this in a different way than a classroom teacher. I started coaching because I was looking to do more. My boys are older and I wanted to challenge myself. Working with and helping families is my passion and I get so much joy from coaching families. I feel fortunate to be able to support and educate families on their journeys to connect, incorporate routine and structure, and find joy.
My name is Lori Steele-Starr and I grew up in a cute little suburb of Kansas City, MO called Blue Springs, Missouri. Many years later, I now live in Kansas City, MO. I’m married to the sweetest guy and have 2 grown boys of my own and 2 grown boys who are my step children. Both of my boys are adopted and have special needs. Having children who are adopted and unique has really stretched me as a mom, and I hope to share my experiences and help others through those experiences. Prior to having my children I went to Northwest Missouri State University and earned degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I later attended the University of Central Missouri where I earned my Master’s in Early Childhood Education.
I am thankful to everyone who welcomes me into their lives and allows me to work with the individuals that mean the most to them. It truly is such an amazing feeling!
